Location: Fort Bragg California coast

Status: a little queasy from beers last night

After 4 days of camping out under huge redwoods in the back of the car as I travelled down the coast I gave in to the need for a bath (rather than a grotty campsite shower) a haircut and a few beers and i stopped off in this little town about a third of the way down the Cali coast.... they even have their own brewery and it has to be said that the Pacific coast americans (tho' the Canadian beer is better) are really making an effort with their booze - this Pale Ale stuff is a passable brew and i've not had to resort to drinking that pissh called bud yet! :)

I cut over from 101 to highway 1 yesterday and after 45mins of twisty turny switchback driving through the hills the coast burst upon my eyes - the Pacific was lit up like a sea of jewels in the afternoon blaze and grey pelicans and some kind of hawk were whirling round the cliffs - and in the case of the pelicans occasionally flopping gracelessly into the water after fish every once in a while....

Moving on again today should be in San Fran in the next couple of days...
